STEP ONE: Search for opportunities > Manager (All Sectors)
We urgently need experienced managers to work with organisations in developing communities. As a management volunteer with VSO you could be working alongside colleagues in human rights NGOs, HIV and AIDS charities or farmers associations to name a few. You'll share your management skills and build their capacity to help them improve the vital services they provide to their communities.
Right now VSO has more than a hundred urgent requests from organisations in 26 countries across Africa and Asia for volunteers with business and general management skills. If you are looking for a new challenge and want to make a real difference in some of the world's most disadvantaged communities, apply now. Most placements start in autumn this year, or early 2009, so there's not time to waste.
We're looking for people with 3 years' + experience in a mid to senior management role. Your management experience can be in any sector, as long as it includes the following transferable skills:
staff training, leadership and motivation
team or company strategy/planning
budget control
monitoring and evaluation systems
management and administrative systems
managing change
communications.
Now is the best time to volunteer
The Government has announced a fund to cover the pensions of public servants who volunteer overseas with VSO between April 2008 and March 2011. Find out more about getting your public sector pension paid.
