STEP ONE: Search for opportunities > Forester

We have occasional opportunities for foresters to work in social or community forestry. You can help to promote the sustainable use of resources and work with local communties to create employment opportunities through enterprise development.

You could be working in the Philippines or Papua New Guinea.

Necessary qualifications and experience

You will need a relevant degree-level qualification in forestry and two years' related experience.

Types of opportunity available

Many of the jobs you could be doing involve the re-afforestation of denuded areas. Alternatively you might be working with your local community to develop collaborative strategies for the sustainable management of local forests. We have some jobs for lecturers, particularly in social forestry.
