Volunteering

STEP ONE: Search for opportunities > Doctor (Obstetrician / Gynaecologist)

If you’re a fully qualified and experienced obstetrician or gynaecologist, we need your skills urgently. You could be sharing your vital knowledge and experience in countries such as Kenya, The Gambia, Tanzania and Uganda for one to two years.

If you’re MBBS or MBChB qualified with at least 3 years’ post-registration experience and a background in obstetrics or gynaecology, you can help change lives in the world’s poorest countries.

Royal College Fellowship programme

VSO offers a Fellowship programme in conjunction with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. If you’re a speciality registrar in years 4 or 5 of your Higher Specialist Training with membership of the RCOG, we want to hear from you. Our special 1-year placements can be accredited towards your training. With retrospective assessment and UK and in-country mentors sourced by the RCOG, the learning and experience you gain can count towards the CCT.
