RECYCLE AND RAISE MONEY FOR VSO
Putney-based international development charity VSO is taking part in National Recycle Week, from 2 June and needs your old mobile phones.
VSO can recycle unwanted mobile phones and raise much needed funds at the same time. All you need to do is pick up a recycling envelope from VSO’s office in Putney – at 317 Putney Bridge Road.
One mobile phone recycled can generate enough money to fund one VSO volunteer for one day in a country like Ethiopia. VSO’s work in Ethiopia focuses on education. Only 47 percent of primary-age children attend school regularly, and schools are affected by few resources and poorly trained teachers. British teachers who volunteer with VSO are working at all levels of the education system to improve management processes and training for teachers and make education better and more relevant for children in Ethiopia.
