Fundraising is not compulsory for volunteers. Your placement does not depend on whether you choose to fundraise; however, the funds you raise will help VSO continue to send volunteers like you overseas.

Youth volunteers
All youth volunteers are asked to fundraise towards their placement. This is not only to contribute to the cost of sending volunteers overseas, but also to show commitment to the programme, to gain valuable skills, and to raise awareness about the youth programmes and VSO in local communities and host countries.
