Tanzania

  • Sabra Suleiman is one of the many children at Saateni nursery school, where VSO volunteer, Daphne Sharpe is working as a teacher trainer. Daphne has shared her early years education expertise with teachers from all 18 of the government pre-schools in Zanzibar.

  • Teacher Asya Hassan Mussa is teaching a class full of primary school children at Saateni nursery school, Zanzibar, Tanzania. Teacher Asya was taught by VSO volunteer teacher trainer, Daphne Sharp, who has now trained over 100 nusery school teachers and 18 heads of pre school.

  • Saumu Ismai, treasurer of a women's group who have been working with VSO volunteer Maurice Kwame Nyambok to establish links with some of the many tourist hotels on Zanzibar, Tanzania. Currently Zanzibars hotels import 80 % of their produce. Opening up the market to the locals will help generate a vital income.
